Good Morning, I am Janet Imogene Goodrich Polk, I just found GFA is the membership fee still $30 for individuals?

My mother's side of the family is well researched Nivens-Conyers (I have a huge book) but I know very little of my father's side:

I live in Nederland, Texas (Southeast Texas Beaumont-Port Arthur)(born in Oregon) I know that there is a town named Goodrich in Polk County, Texas (interesting, about 1.5 hrs from where I live) and that there was a Goodrich that fought in the Battle of San Jacinto. On my mother's side I am a far distant cousin to David Crockett (Alamo).

My father: Elwood John Goodrich b:2-27-1917 Salt Lake City, UT d: 3-24-1975 San Diego, CA 1 sister Leetha, 1 brother (died@ 12 Russell?)
married: Ina Hope Conyers 6-9-1940 Dayton, OR b: 2-9-1919 Tacoma, WA d: 6-9-2007 Albany, OR (3 children)

Grandparents: Elwood Major Goodrich b: 7-16-1879 Winfield, KA d: 1-21-1921 Portland, OR (worked for the railroad, I believe died due to a railroad accident) married: Cora Lee Brown 4-30-1910 Green River, UT(I have a silver coffee set given to my grandparents on their wedding day by my great-aunts Nora Goodrich Roberts and Carrie Goodrich McEwen) Cora Lee b: 9-11-1881 Paint Rock, TN d: ? Portland, OR.

Greats and Great-Greats: Information that I have is for the Brown's I have nothing more for the Goodrich's

If someone could provide me with more information or direct me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Janet Polk

Hello Janet,

Welcome to your Elwood Goodrich search.  If you send to me an email at gfagenealogy@yahoo.com, with your request to be added to the Goodrich Family Association newsletter list, I will be happy to send you the current newsletter, which includes a membership form.

We do have some information, not a lot, regarding your Elwood M. Goodrich; did you know that he was a private stationed in the Phillipine Islands in 1900, a member of the 39th Regiment Infantry, US Volunteers? And yes, he worked for the Railroad as a Switch Man while living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Please contact me off-forum at gfagenealogy@yahoo.com and we can share information.

Regards,
Delores Goodrick Beggs
